Back to 1983 FOR A DAY

Back to 1983 FOR A DAY

How did you communicate?
How did you get your news?
How did you entertain yourself?
What was the most difficult gadget you had to give up and why? What about the least difficult sacrifice.
Were there any surprises for you?

I took this assignment pretty serious. I even dressed up as someone would from the 80’s. So the night before I turned off all my cell phones, ipod, and laptop, and my tv. I know I wanted to take as much time doing an activity that doesn’t involve modern technology. So I cooked myself a massive breakfast and took my time to eat all of it. Then I washed the dishes and clean my room. I spent an hour rearranging my bedroom. I gave my dog a bath outside and played with my dog. Then I walked over to my friends house so we can go biking around our neighborhood. We rode over to downtown and talked to interesting people. I basically spent most of my day exercising and exploring the beauty of my city.

It was pretty easy not looking or using my phone. I only worried about getting lost or raped that I couldn’t call the police. I felt a little lost most of the day mainly because I had no internet so I couldn’t see any news updates. I couldn’t look at what the weather was going to like because I couldn’t watch the news on television. I was getting kind of fat and chunky so I dedicated most of the day to exercise and explore the world around me. My ipod and my laptop was the most difficult gadget to give up. Because I couldn’t live without any music in my life, and I couldn’t catch up with all my social networking sites. The whole was pretty easy and only at the end of the day I got a little bored and struggled a lot. It was a nice change of life but I much rather have modern technology with me.
